I am going to listen to 3 different types of radio stations to find out whether or not the news stories will be related to the type of radio station they appear on e.g. rock stories on rock stations, or to see if there are certain stories that appear on all 3 stations, regardless of the genre of the station.
When listening to the news bulletins I was focusing on the running order of the stories in order to see if the stories that were replicated on different stations appeared at the same point in the bulletin, I also focused on the facts in the story to see if the focus of the stories that were replicated were the same and the news values in each story, on each bulletin. i thought that these elements may sometimes be different depending on the genre of the station and the stations intended audience. I am also going to listen to 2 local radio station news bulletins to see if the report things differently.
I knew it was going to be difficult to find 3 different radio stations that have a listen again feature, so I went to each of the radio stations websites and selected the 'Listen Again' tab which allowed me to replay any show from anytime I wanted. This will allow me to keep going over bulletins while I'm analysing the news.
The 3 radio stations I am going to analyse are Magic, Kerrang! and BBC Radio 2
